theWall

theWall

TheWall is a community of perpetual worship and prayer gathered around and centered on Jesus Christ. Finding its expression in joyful worship, TheWall exists in order that every nation on earth might be glad in Jesus (Psalm 67:3)! For this reason, a foundational goal of TheWall is to sustain a 24/7 covering of worship and intercessory prayer. According to Scripture we know that we are quickly moving toward the consummation of all things and the one great goal on the heart of God is white-hot worshipers from every tribe, tongue and nation.

In Revelation 5:4 we see that God Himself has purchased a people from every tribe, tongue, and nation on the earth to worship. In this same passage, the incense of our worship and prayer (harp and bowl) on behalf of the nations is what actually escorts Jesus back to the earth at the end of the age. We believe that it is whole-hearted partnership with God, in love and adoration, in worship and in intercession, which will fuel the evangelization of the entire earth before Jesus returns.

In one of the last promises found in the Old Testament, the prophet Malachi declares a timeless promise, that “from the rising of the Sun, even to its setting, My name will be great among the nations, and in every place incense is going to be offered to my name, and a grain offering that is pure; for my name will be great among the nations.” This incense of worship and prayer, also mentioned in Revelation 5, is released by a global missions movement made up of passionate lovers of Jesus Christ.

Core Values

  1. God’s Leadership in Missions through Worship

“Let the peoples praise you O God; Let all the peoples praise You. Oh, let the nations be glad and sing for joy! For You shall judge the people righteously and govern the nations on earth.” Psalm 67:3-4

When you enter Every Home for Christ’s International Headquarters in Colorado Springs, you are greeted with a quote from Psalm 67 … “Let the Nations Be Glad”. Although our focus is missions, it is not our ultimate goal. Worship is! “Missions exists because worship does not. Worship is ultimate, not missions, because God is ultimate, not man. When this age is over, and the countless millions of redeemed fall on their faces before the throne of God, missions will be no more. It is a temporary necessity. But worship abides forever.” (“Let the Nations Be Glad”, John Piper)

We believe that worship is both the fuel and goal of any missions work we do. Our goal in missions is for Jesus to have the reward of His suffering. He is worthy of a people from every tribe, tongue and nation in the place of wholehearted worship. He is worthy of a people who enjoy His great glory!

The fuel of missions must also be worship … for we cannot call a people to enjoy God … without enjoying Him ourselves. How will we “declare his greatness among the people” without our own hearts overwhelmed by his goodness?! Our great disappointment is not that we have failed to work hard enough to increase his glory on the earth. It is rather that we do not recognize nor delight in his great leadership, and therefore do not reflect his great glory. (2 Cor. 2:14) The pursuit of God’s glory must be foremost in our hearts and minds.

  2. God’s Leadership in Missions through Prayer

The Bible is clear that our struggle is not against flesh and blood. We are at war! Our weakness in prayer is mostly due to our neglect of this truth. Paul uses a war-time analogy repeatedly in Scripture. In 1 Timothy 1:18 he says, “This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you may wage the good warfare. “ In 2 Timothy 2:4 we are encouraged that “no one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier.” God does not want us to engage in this battle on our own. As we pray, it will become clear to all that the victory belongs to the Lord. Psalm 50:15 says, “Call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.”

Jesus calls us to prayer, and today we believe He is inviting us into prevailing prayer- “that men always ought to pray and not lose heart” (Luke 18:1). In our constant posture in the place of prayer we know that the Father is glorified (John 14:13). We believe that God’s cry is the same today as it was in the first century when in the Gospel of Luke it was promised, “And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? I tell you that He will avenge them speedily …” (Luke 18:7-8). God’s leadership is clear. When we cry to him day and night, He will vindicate us and cause His glory to be seen in the nations.

  3. God’s Leadership in Missions through Worship and Prayer

The prayer and worship movement is springing up all over the earth. The Lord’s Prayer for His Father’s kingdom to come and His will to be done “on earth as it is in heaven” is coming forth. Heaven has both unceasing prayer and worship in the context of unending enjoyment of Jesus. As the veil thins between this age and the next, the earth finds itself in transition.

Rev. 5 gives us a glance into this transition. Here we find the living creatures and the elders each offering up a harp and a bowl, which are the prayers and worship of the saints. These bowls are full and the Church has come into maturity as the prayers and worship of the saints fill the bowls in heaven. The saints enter into a mature expression of their proclamation in worship and prayer. Heaven and earth are in unity as the Church embraces her eternal identity as a House of Prayer.

Jesus is waiting for dynamic partnership with the Church in worship and prayer. In Rev. 4:8 we see a governmental shift is taking place. John tells us that the Living Creatures do not rest day or night saying, “Holy, Holy, Holy.” Yet, in Rev. 5:8 the living creatures rest from their worship to offer up someone else’s worship in heaven. This is a monumental shift in the government of heaven. We believe this is what Isaiah prophesied as the primary identity of the Temple as the House of Prayer for all nations, and Jesus reiterated this truth at the cleansing of the Temple.

Even them I will bring to My holy mountain, And make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be accepted on My altar; For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations." (Is. 56:7)

And He said to them, "It is written, 'My house shall be called a house of prayer,' but you have made it a 'den of thieves.'" (Mt. 21:13)

Join Us

TheWall consists of a community of like-minded believers, consistently singing songs to the Lord and praying on behalf of the nations. Our goal in this process is not to unnecessarily complicate what all throughout Scripture is called “basic-Christianity”, namely prayer and worship. What we will be doing on a daily basis is not mystical — rather, it is the simple act of coming boldly before God, and praying back to God the desires of His heart. This in essence defines what happens at theWall. Join with us as we partner with God in praying for the harvest.
