Zimbabwe: Heart of man evangelism chart.
Political and social upheavals in Zimbabwe have kept the nation under the watchful eye of the world for months. An internationally contested election kept President Robert Mugabe in power and plunged the nation into economic chaos.

The inflation rate in Zimbabwe is the highest in the world. Small cars and properties cost trillions of Zimbabwe dollars. Hospitals are without beds or pillows, a gallon of gas costs the equivalent of $7 per gallon. Food shortages are everywhere.

But God has a way of taking “impossible” situations and using them for His glory. In the midst of the turmoil, believers are offering hope and healing to the nation through Christ. Over the last 12 months, responses to the Gospel have increased sevenfold to 9,302. One hundred twenty-four Christ Group fellowships were also established during that season of harvest.

Zimbabwe has always been a unique and fruitful EHC mission field in Africa. From the capital of Harare to the rural villages of Tongaland, the Good News has gone forth and the Holy Spirit has found a home in willing hearts. To date, nearly 1.2 million people have responded to the Gospel, with 660 village Christ Group fellowships planted.

Even in the midst of the chaos, EHC Director Cleopas Chitapa has his hope fixed on the Lord. “I believe God still has His hand on the situation,” Cleopas said. “I have no idea how He will sort out the quagmire, but Jeremiah 29:11 is true, that His thoughts are for good, for prosperity and wholeness, not for evil. We appreciate all your words of encouragement and prayers. All I can say is, the struggle continues.”

Praise God for the harvest in Zimbabwe and pray for His continued protection and guidance for believers who are sharing the Gospel in the midst of trying times.
